Briarwood

To create an open oasis from a house full of small, dark, internally focused spaces was the formidable goal sought for this suburban property. The main living space was holistically transformed into an expansive yet comfortable open area with the addition of a subtly sloped ceiling over the newly combined Living, Kitchen, and Dining spaces. Now directly connected with its site through large operable doors, the space encourages daily engagement with the indoor/outdoor Colorado lifestyle. Custom wood shutters were added to allow for privacy when needed, and to simply slide out of the way when not. Stone, stucco, and wood in subtle, natural tones brought the interior renewal outside to complete the metamorphosis and become a house that can now be called a home.
